| Landcare ‘Landcare’ is the term frequently used to describe a group of people committed to the effective management and use of natural resources which includes the soil, water, air, flora & fauna.
Community Landcare groups work in partnership with Commonwealth, State & Local Governments as well as community organisations like Greening Australia and the NSW Farmers as well as those from the corporate sector. The Landcare movement is very active in the Greater Hume Shire, and has several groups working to sustain and improve our local environment. These groups undertake remediation and preventative on-ground works as well as provide information and raise community awareness of Landcare issues. To join a local Landcare group, or for further information on natural resource management issues, contact Greater Hume Shire Council or Landcare representatives. Landcare Groups
