SNAP UP YOUR CHANCE TO WIN BY ZOOMING IN ON GREATER HUME SHIRE

Greater Hume Shire is currently developing a new Shire wide Tourism Brochure, which will be launched in early 2010. Photos from throughout the Shire will be required for the Tourism Brochure as well as other future promotional material. Entries in this competition will continue to improve the Shire’s digital photograph library.

ENTRIES CLOSE:                    Friday 18 December 2009

WINNERS ANNOUNCED:       Tuesday 26 January 2010
                                                   (Australia Day Celebrations @ Jubilee Park, Culcairn)
                                                   Winning photos will be displayed on Greater Hume Shire’s Website.

CATEGORIES:
(Subject of entry must be within Greater Hume Shire Council area and should capture the spirit of our unique area and in addition must be accepted by the judges as pertaining to the section theme.)

• Best Photo of Table Top Mountain/Yambla Range
• Best Photo of an Event/Show/Exhibition/Fair/Fete within Greater Hume Shire
• Best Photo of an Attraction/Icon within Greater Hume Shire
• Best Photo of a Landscape (could be environmental or agricultural) within Greater Hume Shire

PHOTOGRAPHIC GUIDELINES:

• Full Colour, preferable CMYK but RGB accepted.
• Must be 300 dpi (high resolution) at finish size.
• Presented unframed (electronic copies will also be required).
• Maximum of 15 photographs per person to be entered.
• Photos should be no more than 3 years old.
• Where possible but not compulsory photos should show people interacting.
• Key elements of a good image are: lighting, environment/location, colour, talent, emotional appeal, engaging subject matter, spontaneity, composition and scale.
• The images should be inspiring, engaging, motivational, inviting and sell the dream of  visiting Greater Hume Shire as well as showing a sense of reality.

                 Runner Up    $50
                                   

• Student Section, under 18 yrs (each category)

                  1st Prize        $50
                  Runner Up    $25
