Denise Osborne

Denise has been an elected representative in local government for more than 25 years and served as Greater Hume Shire Mayor from September 2006 through to September 2012 having previously represented the Hume Shire before amalgamation.

Denise was presented with the Inaugural Award for Women in Local Government – Elected Representative Rural Council in recognition for her service to local government in 2008 and her local government experiences have now been recognised and are illustrated in a permanent exhibit at the Museum of Australian Democracy Old Parliament House, Canberra.

 

Denise and her late husband Barry have lived in the Shire for almost 30 years and have six children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
