Holbrook Rotary Art & Garden Show

Holbrook’s gala event Art & Gardens will incorporate art, photography, leatherwork, sculpture, garden art, natural landscapes and beautiful gardens. Organisers are expecting to attract visitors and friends to Holbrook from around the region from Friday 11 October, and the weekend of Saturday 12-13 October. A special market will take place outside the Anglican Centre on Saturday 12  October and the art show will continue until Saturday 19 October.

Rotary Art Show

The Rotary Art Show’s grand opening will be staged on Friday October 11 starting at 6.30pm at the Holbrook Shire Hall in Albury Street. Art lovers will enjoy an offering of well over 300 works of art and photography, fantastic finger food, a selection of Pfeiffer wines and an exhibition of children’s art from local and regional schools.

Art committee president Jen Parer is excited to announce Holbrook’s guest artist is Albury’s Meg Sprouster.  Meg has had solo exhibitions in Sydney and MAMA (Murray Art Museum  Albury), participated in group exhibitions in Chiltern and Albury as well as exhibitions with TAFE, AWAS (Albury Wodonga Art Society) and Gigs Gallery.

Open Gardens

This year, five gardens will open during the weekend with lunch provided by local charities. Garden co-ordinator Anne Cox said the gardens include Jody and Rob Martin at ‘Kentish Downs’(PDF, 503KB) , Pam and Neil Seymour at ‘Braeside’(PDF, 298KB), Little Billabong, Michael Elvins and Ron Miller at ‘Malabar Park’, Heather and Phil Julian ‘Annandayle’(PDF, 700KB), and Chris and Troy Musgrave at ‘The View’ in Holbrook.

The Hospital Auxiliary will provide morning tea and basket lunches at Malabar Park on Saturday, the Adult Riding Group will cater for morning tea and lunch at Kentish Downs on Sunday and Pam Seymour will have her jams and relishes for sale at Braeside during the weekend opening to raise funds for the Billabong Hall.
