What to do in Greater Hume in June

Stay warm and dry this winter by exploring some of the amazing museums within Greater Hume.

  • The Doll Museum and Historical Treasures in Gerogery, housed in a charming historical church, has a fantastic display of dolls, teddies, prams and collectibles to see.
  • The Headlie Taylor Header Museum and Ed's Old Farm Machinery Museum in Henty will explain why Henty is known as the ‘Home of the Header’ and will give you a great insight into the farming history of the area (for a sneak peek into the Headlie Taylor Museum, scan the QR code below). Also in Henty, the Observer Printery Museum and Mini Museum will take you back in time with a collection of printing memorabilia and so much more.
  • In Holbrook you can step back in time and experience their pioneering past in the Woolpack Inn Museum, see the collection in the only museum dedicated to 19th and early 20th century Australian Pottery at the National Museum of Australian Pottery or find out why there is a Submarine in the middle of a town 400kms away from the nearest ocean at the Submarine Museum.
  • The Jindera Pioneer Museum will give you a window into life on the land over 150 years ago with an impressive collection of shop articles, furniture, household goods and machinery.
  • The Wymah Museum, located in the old Wymah School offers a selection of rotating local themes and includes pioneer family history, the origins of Patterson's Curse and much more.
  • The Station House Museum in Culcairn is a tangible reminder of the great railway expansion of the last century and is a must visit for any heritage lover or railway enthusiast.
