Jindera Community Garage Sale
1 May 2022

The Jindera Community Garage Sale has been going for 22 years and has for the past four years, been coordinated by Rural Carelink Jindera. Local businesses generously sponsor the event. Jindera Village and surrounding areas are invited to register their site to participate. Over the years the number of sites has grown from 40 to 70 which makes it the largest community garage sale in the Albury Wodonga area and the biggest and best local recycling event in the district. Plenty of food and coffee outlets will feed the hungry shoppers. If you haven’t been to Jindera before come out and see this hidden gem.

A huge number of bargains in the one area; saddles to camper trailers, old tools and collectibles, furniture and books, baby ware and toys, clothes and shoes, plants, and home wares.

Coordinated and organised by Rural Care Link Inc.

Maps - $2 available at the Rural Care Link Op-Shop - 83 Urana Street, Jindera (opposite IGA).

Holbrook Sheep and Wool Fair
Holbrook Sporting Complex
18, 19 and 20 May 2022

Each year Holbrook Sheep and Wool Fair attracts stud sheep breeders and more than 150 secondary school students from throughout the Riverina, southern NSW and Victoria.

The first day of the fair is Schools' Day and is dedicated to educational workshops for participating schools, before they compete with their school sheep in the Schools' Interbreed Competition.

Thursday is the Open Sheep Competitions between the different breeds and the judging of fleeces. It concludes on the Friday morning with the Open Sheep Interbreed classes.

Various Judging Competitions are also conducted throughout the event. These consist of novice and senior sections for Merino Sheep, Meat Breed Sheep and Fleece Judging. The Holbrook Sheep and Wool Fair also hosts the Riverina Group Final of the Meat Sheep Judging Competition, with the winner and runner-up qualifying to represent the Riverina at the State Final of this hotly-contested competition.

Be sure to leave some room in your car for a picnic basket full of lunch, brunch or supper and treat your mum to a delicious experience with a view at one of our spectacular picnic spots.
  • There are plenty of places to choose from in Woomargama National Park, like the Tin Mines and Samual Bollard picnic and camping areas. From here you can surround yourself with gorgeous flowers and wildlife and take a walk up to Hanel's or North lookout to soak in the view of our region.
  • Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre in Burrumbuttock houses a beautiful picnic spot in their 4-hectare park. The gardens and woodland contain many locally rare native shrubs, wildflowers and grasses that attract a range of animals and the picnic tables are situated next to a picturesque dam where you can feel tranquil and relaxed, immersed in our natural environment.
  • Morgan's Lookout near Walla Walla is an ideal picnic spot with a great history. Learn about the bushranger Dan Morgan and how he used this fantastic lookout to his advantage as you soak in the views and enjoy some quality time with family.
