Come and enjoy our great little country show featuring Show and Shine, Shearing Competitions, Horse events, Much more action and displays, with plenty of food choices including our new food court/sit down area, giving a market feeling with stall holders of varying selection. Not to mention all your regular Side show attractions for the young and young at heart.

Jindera Pioneer Museum 50 year Celebrations

Jindera Pioneer Museum was opened during the Jindera Village Centenary in October 1968. This year it will celebrate it’s 50th anniversary with a Lost Trades Day and the opening of our Blacksmith and Stables precinct. We would love you to come along and celebrate with us! The doors will be open between 10am and 2pm on this day, with a fabulous displays of trades and activities that are no longer commonplace in our everyday lives. A great opportunity to experience life of the pioneer era with our first ever LOST TRADES DAY.

Walla Walla 150th Trek Re-Run
Sunday 7 October 

The original settlers of Walla Walla left Ebenezer in October of 1868. This event is intended to coincide with the 150 anniversary of them leaving Ebenezer South Australia and follow along the approximate route of the original trek. Participants will make their own way to Ebenezer in their own vehicles, to commence the “trek”. Over the course of six days the group of participants will drive themselves back to Walla Walla, following the approx. route of the original settlers. Participants will stop at various places of interest along the way and hear history about the trek.

Holbrook Art 'n Gardens 
The Rotary Club of Holbrook and the Anglican community will join forces to present the Rotary Art Show and a weekend of Open Gardens from Friday October 12-14. Rotary’s signature event, dining among the art at the official opening of the Art and Photography Show will take place on Friday evening October 12 and the exhibition will extend to the next weekend.
Saturday October 13 will see food stalls, barbecue and coffee van set up with market stalls along the northern reaches of the Ten Mile Creek Gardens encouraging visitors to move from one focal point to the next. Close by will be the Rotary Art and Photography Show at the Holbrook Hall and the Quilt Show at the Anglican Hall. Children’s activities will include miniature train rides around Ten Mile Creek Gardens, jumping castle, face painting and treasure hunts. Garden visits will continue throughout Sunday October 14.

Walla Walla Community Markets

Garage Sale Trail
Saturday 20 October and Sunday 21 October

Greater Hume Council households, schools and community groups are set to join over 400,000 people across the country on Saturday 20 October and Sunday 21 October as a part of the eighth annual Garage Sale Trail. 
A multi award-winning community and sustainability event, Garage Sale Trail is powered by over 140 local councils nation-wide. It is expected that this year’s weekend long event will involve more Australians than ever before, who will choose to reuse at over 15,000 garage sale events to be held across the country. Host a sale or shop the Trail at garagesaletrail.com.au

Ten Mile Creek Gardens
Enjoy the Track through the Ten Mile Gardens on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, throughout the year.
The railway runs every Sunday during school holidays and by arrangement for parties and groups.

Get outdoors in Greater Hume

Explore wildlife adventures and experience the natural environment at our amazing natural attractions. Woomargama National Park is a plethora of wildlife and amazing natural scenery including lookouts that provide some of the most scenic views across the whole region. Pack a picnic and trek through the forest to explore the National Park.

Visit the award winning Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre where you can learn about the wildlife inhabitants in the education and discovery centre and then explore their natural habitat.

Jump aboard the Holbrook Miniature Train as it winds it way around the Ten Mile Creek Gardens. Let the kids work off some energy as they run amok at fun playgrounds throughout the shire. Let your little adventurer skip, swing and slide at these great playgrounds, it’s a great way to spend a day outside.  

Grab a rod and drop a line in at the many fishing spots throughout the shire. The cod are always biting in the Murray River and at Lake Hume, where you can put the boat in or just enjoy the quiet river bank. Travel along the Billabong creek where you will find a number of quiet places to throw in a line that is suitable for the young novice angler.
