Jindera Library Official Opening

Published on 19 June 2019

Join with Greater Hume Council staff and Councillors to celebrate the official opening with afternoon tea and a beautiful cake for the occasion.  The new Jindera Library will provide the community with a range of collections and resources and help to provide answers to important questions they can't otherwise find.

Following the official opening of the new library, staff will be available to demonstrate the use of the Self Loan Station for borrowing items and also provide details about how to access the Riverina Regional Library Catalogue, eAudios, eBooks and other online information.

Later in the afternoon, from 2pm – 4pm the community are also invited to take part in the Virtual Reality experience, investigate their family history with Ancestry Library Edition, and take part in a Book Art program.

The new Library is a valuable addition to the Community Hub’s delivery of a range of services meeting the needs of Jindera’s diverse demographic and social groups. Mayor Wilton said “that in current times, libraries are much more than a place to borrow books and increasingly provide opportunities for community socialisation”.
