Spread the joy!

The holiday season is upon us! As our calendars start to fill with celebrations of all kinds we here at Greater Hume are celebrating all that makes our communities great. There is so much to be experienced for the young and old, our residents and our guests this festive season.

The local communities have gathered their collective Christmas Spirit and are hosting Christmas Light Competitions, Shopping Events and Community Carols where the communities can gather for a BBQ prior to enjoying the chorus of voices singing seasonal songs. There are a variety of opportunities to get together with friends and family right here on our doorstep.

Ticked off all those items on your shopping list? Gifts come in many forms and not all of them are found under the tree wrapped with a bow. Give the gift of community support this season and shop local. There are a number of campaigns running to support regional areas this season, #buyfromthebush, #ourregionalnsw and #buyregional and we here at Greater Hume have our own Buy Local Guide. Our Shire has a host of unique gift stores and markets with something for everyone on your list. Shop between the towns and villages and support your fellow local business owners and stall holders.

Planning a getaway for yourself or planning for the arrival of guests? Jump online to our website or pop into the Greater Hume Visitor Information Centre, Holbrook or one of our Visitor Information Service Points (Burrumbuttock General Store, Culcairn Craft Shop, Dale's Highway Store or Doodle Cooma Craft Shopfront, Henty, Gerogery Supply Store, Jindera Pioneer Museum, Walbundrie Co-Op, Walla Walla Store, Woolpack Inn Museum, Holbrook or Woomargama Post Office) for some ideas on attractions suitable for all ages both near and far.
