SPRING

Spring is the time to dust of the Winter blues and Greater Hume has lots to offer this season.

* Put secondhand first this September and spring clean your wardrobes, homes, community clubs and offices. Register yourself or your group for the National Garage Sale Trail on October 19 & 20. This is a great opportunity to traverse the shire and pick up a treasure while actively choosing to recycle, reuse and reduce waste. https://www.garagesaletrail.com.au/register

* There is something for everyone and a wonderful celebration of all that our rural towns have to offer this Spring. Put on your comfortable shoes and a hat and head out to the Henty Machinery Field Days, Culcairn & Walbundrie Agricultural Shows.

* Celebrate local artists with the Lions Club Holbrook Art Show. Running for a week there is plenty of time to enjoy the show and a relaxing lunch at one of our many eateries.

* Grab your garden enthusiast friends and make a day of touring the Holbrook Open Gardens to see their Spring presentations.

* Are you an enthusiast of soft tops, convertibles or cabriolets? The Pop the Top Festival in Jindera is the only Australian festival for drivers of soft top vehicles. On this big weekend, Jindera will come alive with a vehicle expo, countryside car tour, special awards and more.

* Holbrook Landcare celebrates their 30th birthday and you can partake in workshops and open days with Earth Canvas at Bibbaringa, Mt Narra Narra and Yammacoona.

* Local markets with fresh spring fare on offer, a ride on the Miniature Railway in Holbrook, taking in the view at Morgan's Lookout or from Table Top Mountain, a bbq and stroll through our town parks or nature walks. There is no reason to stay indoors as the weather warms up.
