Location:
Albury LibraryMuseum, Culcairn Station House Museum, Headlie Taylor HeaderMuseum, Holbrook Submarine Museum, Jindera Pioneer Museum, Woolpack Inn Museum and Wymah Museum.

Often called The Great War of 'the war to end all wars' - had a huge impact across the globe. Consequences is a new exhibition that explores the aftermath of this global conflict and the impacts it had on the Greater Hume communities - impacts which are still felt to this day. Developed in partnership between the Greater Hume community museums, Albury LIbraryMuseum, Murray Arts and funded by NSW Government through Create NSW.

Local artists Dr Treahna Hamm (Yorta Yorta), Stephanie Jakovac and the Facing Australia group were engaged as artists in residence to create work in response to the themes explored in Consequences.

Summertime Fun

Long, hot summer days call for periods of respite in the cool and we have many options for locals and their visitors.

Take a drive to the popular tourist destination of Lake Hume. Boating, yachting, water skiing, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, camping and sightseeing are yours to enjoy in this beautiful region of the Greater Hume. Pack a picnic, good company or just go solo with a book or a camera and perch under the shade of a tree. Fishing rods could offer a catch of Golden Perch, Murray Cod, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Red fin or Carp. Stay for the day or book into one of the local camping grounds, caravan parks or other accommodation places on offer so that you can truly unwind.

Don't forget our local swimming pools with various opening hours including early morning swims and late closings. All pools share the fun of an inflatable pool activity on a rotational roster throughout the summer. Check our website for all information on opening times and inflatable location. Henty and Holbrook also offer a 1m diving board for some good old fashion fun in the sun.

Simply too hot outside? Then head indoors for a Virtual Reality experience. The Submarine Museum at Holbrook currently has three Virtual Reality headsets which take the viewer on a 7 minute virtual tour of HMAS ONSLOW's Control Room, Engine Room and Weapons Room. These are placed in the foyer of the Visitor Information Centre and are a free feature. The Henty and Culcairn Libraries are also offering Virtual Reality experiences this summer. There are plenty of games and experiences to choose from so come in and get ready to explore.

This is the perfect time to visit our local museums and galleries. Take a trip down memory lane and visit the many historical museums located in Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook and Jindera. There is an extraordinary collection of artifacts and ephemera that serve to educate and inspire our current generation all in air conditioned comfort.
