Council News from the May Meeting

At the May Council meeting some key decisions for our community were made.

At the meeting Council resolved to –

  • Restrict public access to the Carabost Hall due to safety concerns. Community consultation will occur in the coming months in order to determine the future of the Hall.
  • Support the development of a new regional hospital for Albury Wodonga Health at the existing hospital located in Albury.
  • Adopt the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to the Mayor and Councillors Policy, as previously publicly exhibited.
  • Authorise the General Manager to sign the Service Level Agreement between Greater Hume Council and WAW Credit Union Walla Walla. More information in regards to the reinstatement of Council services at WAW Walla Walla will be provided in the following weeks.
  • Place the draft Delivery Program 2025-2029 incorporating draft Operational Plan 2025-2026 and budget, draft Resourcing Strategy 2025-2029, draft Fees and Charges 2025-2026 on public exhibition and accepts submissions until Thursday 19, June 2025. Have your Say on the various documents here.
  • Advise TfNSW that Council objects to the proposed speed zone change on Dights Forest Road due to inadequate consultation with the community. Council will advise TfNSW to formulate a plan in order to appropriately consult with our community in regards to the proposed change.
