Libraries across the Greater Hume are currently closed.
Council has library facilities at Henty, Culcairn and Holbrook while smaller towns and villages are provided with mobile library services. The Greater Hume Libraries offer an extensive collection of books, magazines, sound recordings and DVD’s. Services available at the libraries also include free computer and wi-fi access, author talks, homework club, school holiday programs, storytime sessions for children, community programs and computer classes.

The Greater Hume Council Libraries are currently closed to the public however, would like to provide our valued customers the opportunity to still borrow books, DVD’s, Magazines and audiobooks from the libraries with Click & Collect.
How it works
Contact Library Staff by calling, emailing or social media.
Provide your Name and Library Card Number
Library staff will ask you a number of questions
- How many items do you want to collect?
- Which library do you want to collect your items from?
- What type of library items do you want to borrow?
- What type of format and Genre are you interested in?
A librarian will email you when your items are ready for collection (within 24 hours)
You collect your items from the branch of your choice
Return your items to any of our four locations.

Library Click & Collect will be available for collection between the hours of 11am – 3pm Tuesday & Thursday from your Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook and Jindera Libraries..
Requests placed on Saturday or Sunday will be completed Tuesday morning.
Membership of the library is free and open to all residents of Greater Hume Council.

You will need to provide one piece of identification with your name and proof of address (eg Drivers Licence).
Children under the age of 18 will need to have a guarantor sign for them. (The guarantor needs to be the child’s legal guardian).
Reciprocal membership is open to people who live outside the Riverina Regional Library Council area. Reciprocal membership is free provided you have current membership at a public library in NSW. (You will need to provide your library card and one piece of identification with your name and address on it.) You will have limited borrowing privileges of four books and two DVD's.
Visitors to the Greater Hume have to pay a fee if they are not a resident or rate payer of the Riverina Regional Library (RRL) service area. The fee is listed below:
Visitor’s fee (non-refundable) One month $33.00
Visitor’s fee (non-refundable) Three months $88.00

Visitors & Non-Residents – applies to patrons who do not have a current membership to a NSW Public Library and are not current residents or ratepayers of the RRL service area. A visitor fee is non-refundable – please see RRL Fees and Charges Schedule for more information.
Reciprocal membership – applies to patrons who have a current membership with another NSW public library and are not current ratepayers or residents of the RRL service area. Reciprocal membership refers to a membership applied in one NSW public library (host library) on the provision of a current membership with another NSW public library (home library). The customer seeking membership of the host library must already maintain a current membership with another participating public library within NSW with the understanding that the home membership is not affected in any way with over due items or a banned status. Regular members may borrow up to thirty items at one time. Loan periods for all collection items are 4 weeks.
Items to be renewed can be done by phone, in person or via the library catalogue on or before the due date.
Reciprocal members and visitors can borrow up to four books or two DVD's at a time.
A current library card is necessary to borrow items.
Items can be borrowed or returned to any branch within the Riverina Regional Library.
Fines are charged for late returns. Fines for overdue items are 10 cents per day per item.
Lost or damaged items must be paid for. The library will determine the replacement charge: Replacement charge (lost/damage collection item under $10.00 purchase cost) the fee will total $5.00 plus replacement cost. Replacement charge (lost/damaged collection item over $10.00 purchase cost) the fee will be $10.00 plus replacement cost.
You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card. If your card is lost or stolen notify the library immediately.
There is a $2.00 fee for replacement or a lost card.
The Library has a wide range of resources including adult, youth and children's fiction books, non-fiction books, magazines, tapes and audio books, videos, and DVD’s (some restrictions apply to children under the age of 15 borrowing M and M+ rated video's and DVD’s).
In addition the library has a collection of:
- Newspapers and magazines
- Computers - internet access, word processing

- Playstation 4 with Virtual Reality, television and games

Items from other branches of the Riverina Regional Library can be ordered for a fee of $1.00 per item.
Items not available from the Riverina Regional Library can be ordered in. Inter Library Loan search fee $4.40 with an additional fee of $16.50 for specialist library materials.
Library Staff make every effort to purchase resources that people want to access and welcome suggestions from members. If you would like to recommend a title for purchase please tell the staff at the front desk.
