Public Hearing Report on Planning Proposal - Walla Walla

The proposal seeks to amend the Greater Hume Local Environmental Plan 2012 to reclassify a portion of Council owned land located south of 104 Commercial Street Walla Walla NSW 2659 being Lot 5812 DP 1181658 also known as 1 Commercial Street Walla Walla NSW 2659 from “Community Land” to “Operational” Land.”

Greater Hume Council (Council) is the Planning Proposal Authority for this Planning Proposal and is also authorised to be the Local Plan Making Authority who may make the Local Environment Plan in accordance with 3.36(2) of the EPA Act 1979.

Community Engagement

Council placed the draft planning proposal on public exhibition from Monday, 9 October 2023 to Thursday, 19 October 2023, whilst a Public Hearing was also undertaken on Tuesday, 31 October 2023 at the Walla Walla Sportsground from 5.30pm to 6.15pm.

Council received one written submission for the proposal during the notification period whilst a total of five (5) persons have made verbal submission to the hearing. The meeting was independently chaired by Mr David Hunter from Habitat Planning. A copy of the report is available below.

Council will consider all submissions and the public hearing report before deciding whether to proceed with all or part of the planning proposal and this decision will be made at Council December General Ordinary Meeting.
