Restoring Murray Woodlands Biodiversity and Carbon Conservation Tender

Published on 12 January 2023

The NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust is offering landholders in the Murray region the opportunity to earn payments for the protection and improvement of remnant threatened woodlands, combined with establishing an environmental plantings carbon project.  Successful landholders will be supported to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) as well as receive annual payments to manage eligible remnant woodlands.

There are several information sessions on this Tender being held at Culcairn. During the sessions BCT staff will explain:

  • Benefits to landholders
  • How biodiversity and carbon agreements can work together
  • Conservation tender process and eligibility
  • How landholders will be supported by the BCT, LLS and Clean Energy Regulator
  • Details on the ongoing conservation agreement with annual maintenance payments
  • The opportunity for long term contracts to sell ACCUs generated over the life of a carbon project
  • Steps to submitting an Expression of Interest
