Greater Hume Council is inviting residents to contribute to the development of its next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) by sharing their experiences and suggestions for enhancing community inclusivity.

The DIAP serves as a strategic framework guiding the Council's efforts to improve access, inclusion, and participation across its services, facilities, and information. It ensures that inclusivity remains a central consideration in daily operations and decision-making processes.

Council is particularly interested in hearing from individuals living with disabilities, their carers, service providers, community organizations, and residents to gather diverse perspectives and priorities for the future.

"We want Greater Hume to be a place where everyone feels included, valued, and able to participate fully in community life," said Lea Parker, Mayor of Greater Hume Council. "Hearing directly from people with lived experience, their families, and carers will help us identify what matters most and where we can make the biggest difference."

Feedback gathered during the consultation will directly inform the development of the DIAP 2026–2030 and help Council identify priorities and actions across four key focus areas: attitudes and behaviours, creating liveable communities, access to meaningful employment, and improving systems and processes.

Community members can share their feedback with Greater Hume Council via the website until 5pm Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
